Toni Elías disfrutará de su primera carrera como campeón del mundo de Moto2 este fin de semana en el Gran Premio Iveco de Australia, pero aunque el título está firmemente asegurado por el manresano, la segunda plaza de la clasificación sigue muy abierta.

Elías finiquitó la pugna por el título inaugural de Moto2 con la cuarta posición en la carrera de Sepang, pero para Julián Simón el fin de semana resultó mucho más difícil. Después de cruzar la meta en la 21ª posición, la ventaja del piloto Mapfre Aspar en la segunda plaza del Campeonato se ha reducido considerablemente y ahora es sólo de cinco puntos sobre Andrea Iannone (Fimmco Speed Up).

Sin embargo, Phillip Island es un circuito donde Simón puede competir con merecida confianza. Allí logró la victoria el año pasado para sellar su título de 125cc y es por tanto un buen trazado para concretar esa esquiva primera victoria en Moto2. No obstante, Iannone está pisándole los talones y aún fresco su paso por el podio de Malasia, el italiano buscará su cuarto triunfo de la temporada.

Thomas Lüthi (Interwetten Moriwaki) se encuentra ahora 25 puntos por detrás del tercer clasificado Iannone después de su caída en Sepang, pero el piloto suizo es otro de los que persiguen una primera victoria antes del final de la campaña, y ya ganó en Phillip Island en 2005 en su camino hacia el título de 125cc.

Simone Corsi (JIR Moto2) y Jules Cluzel (Forward Racing) completan los seis primeros puestos de la clasificación general. En la prueba de Philip Island Javier Forés seguirá como sustituto del lesionado Ricky Cardús en el equipo Maquinza-SAG. Anthony West (MZ Racing) esperará alcanzar su mejor actuación de la temporada delante de su público. En este Gran Premio se alineará el también australiano Wayne Maxwell, wild card por el Matteoni Racing. Alex Cudlin será el tercer representante de casa con una montura del Qatar Moto2 Team.

Así fue. Dio 11 vueltas completas en 2 runs mientra que De Angelis, por ejemplo, completó 23 vueltas en 2 runs también.

Redding, aunque ya a final de temporada, parece que está cumpliendo las expectativas creadas sobre él en su etapa 125cc. Con lo dura que es la categoría, psicológicamente parece que está bien "amueblado" el chaval y está siendo competitivo entre tanta piraña como hay en Moto2. Por ahora va 1 en los 2ºs libres.

Pole para De Angelis, Redding se mantiene arriba todo el finde, al igual que Bradl y Iannone, que han estado fuertes hoy sábado, sorprende Di Meglio, que se ha colado 4º. Axel parece que va algo mejor aquí...Ranseder 7º muy bien también... y el "invitado" Maxwell también, 11º, Debón se ha desfondao un poco...

Ahm... lleva dos temporadas en la cateogria intermedia y aún no sabes la calidad que tiene? A mi me parece un paquete de los grandes, con un buen apellido y enchufe en este mundillo, nada más.

Para que se vea el baile que hay en Moto2, Rolfo, el último ganador de Moto2 y mira donde sale, DeAngelis y Redding empiezan a acostumbrarse a estar delante en parrilla, y seguro que Tony en carrera se crece y esta delante luchando por la victoria. Y tb será muy interesante el duelo entre Simón e Iannone

Han comentado que Toni ha tenido problemas con el cambio semiautomático durante todo el fin de semana, contribuyendo a su mal resultado en el QP.

Tremenda caida de Simón a 9 minutos del final, suerte que no le ha pasado nada, ha destrozado la moto.... da la sensación de que ultimamente anda desquiciado, ansioso o nervioso...
